Integrated Community Empowerment Project
Integrated community Empowerment project implemented by "Society for safe environment and welfare of agrarians in Pakistan" and supported by Inter-church organisation for development cooperation (ICCO) Netherlands. This project has contributes to the 3, 7 and 8 Millennium goal, ensures well functioning of Democratic rights and System for the people. Aim of this project to empower the rural isolated communities to have access to basic rights. Project goal to empower 10,000 farmers to gain their basics rights for sustainable development in Mirpurkhas and Umerkot Districts.
Under this project SSEWA-Pak formed 30 CCB’s and get them register as Citizen community board; previously we had implemented the same project in which we formed 100 CCBs, after the successfully completion of this project in present we have a new project which is specifically focused rest of the marginalized groups besides project component focused women to bring gender equality.
Major project Achievements / main activity of the project
SSEWA-Pak conducted meetings with the community members about the National Identity Card application process and registration of their names in the voter list. Under this activity 19 CNIC’s camps were organized in the identified target minority community, many people especially women in the rural areas still do not have CNIC. Total 4,000 people enrolled in voter list and 6,000 people got new national computerized identity cards
(CNIC).
An important component of project is capacity building of CCB members, elected members and UC’s nazim and conducted awareness session with them to aware about their rights. Activities of the project made them aware their true status Pakistani citizen.
