WATSAN Project Activities Achievements
Water, sanitation, health & livelihood project implemented by
"Society for safe environment and welfare of agrarians in
Pakistan" and supported by Tear fund (UK) for three years from 1st April 2008 to 31st March 2011.
Ensures improvement of water, sanitation, health & livelihood condition in villages in dreadful due to which people & animals remain unhealthy. Aim of this project to empower the rural communities to have access to basic needs. Project goal to empower 2000 rural families to gain their basics needs for sustainable development in Mirpurkhas and Umerkot Districts.
Under this project SSEWA-Pak formed 55 Village Development Committees (Male) and 55 Self Help Group (Female) in 55 villages.
Major project Achievements / main activity of the project:
SSEWA-Pak conducted meetings, trainings, theatre performance with the community members to improve condition of clean drinking water, sanitation, and health of peoples and animals.
Under this project 37 trainings (Primary health care, Bio sand nadi filter, Fuel efficient stove & Gender workshop), 41 theatre performance organized in identify target communities and also Provided facilities of Bio sand nadi filter, fuel efficient stove, low cost latrines, water tanks, fruit trees, chicks & protective vaccination for children & women’s according to project activities in target villages.
An important component of project is capacity building women’s members especially formation self help Groups to do small businesses for family income generation also participate in all social activities in area.
Impact of project activities:
Communities are using clean drinking water, improved health & economic condition. |
